Position Overview

Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to enhance the Thoracic Surgery Section, providing care across inpatient, operating room, and outpatient environments. The successful candidate will collaborate with a skilled team of five associate practice providers and four physicians, focusing on the diagnosis and surgical management of patients with thoracic conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in surgical procedures as the first assistant in the operating room for various thoracic surgeries, including open, VATS, and robotic techniques.
  • Deliver comprehensive patient care and education within both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Engage in a collaborative work environment that leverages cutting-edge technologies and practices in thoracic surgical care. Experience with robotic surgery is advantageous, with training and mentorship available.
  • Participate in research initiatives and contribute to the clinical education of General Surgery Residents and trainees in the PA Residency Program. A faculty appointment through the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth may be pursued.

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Eligibility for PA licensure in New Hampshire.
  • Eligibility for Federal DEA Registration.
  • Interest in the Associate Provider role.
