Job Title: Patient Communication Center Specialist

The Patient Communication Center Specialist is the primary point of contact for patients, the public, and other entities communicating with Mountain Park Health Center. This role is responsible for answering incoming contacts, including phone calls, text messages, and chat, and documenting those contacts using the appropriate computer system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and process multiple incoming contacts, directing patients to the appropriate person or department as needed.
  • Set patient appointments with their Primary Care Provider or care team at one of our 10 clinic locations, adhering to provider and department requirements.
  • Assist new patients in registering with Mountain Park Health Center, verifying demographics and insurance information, and updating changes as necessary.
  • Cancel or reschedule appointments as requested by patients, updating appointment schedules through computer systems.
  • Take complete and accurate messages, documenting all communication through the appropriate computer system.
  • Ensure calls from outside clinics or doctor's offices reach the correct department for call resolution.
  • Respond to general questions and inquiries, providing support to patients by connecting with On-Call Providers as necessary.
  • Conduct patient outreach as needed, using protected health information (PHI) in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards.
  • Promote positive patient/guest relations, providing a high level of quality in personal attention and service to patients, the public, and co-workers.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with patients to identify additional ways to be of service and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Work in conjunction with care teams across the MPHC organization.
  • Comply with MPHC Safety Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
  • Experience in medical reception or healthcare, familiarity with performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and English fluency.
