Job Description

This role requires a skilled Frontend Software Engineer to join our team writing full-stack JavaScript using Node.js. As a member of the Frontend team, you will develop the user interface of the Skytap application, working closely with project teams to design, build, and ship UI features and improvements.

You will review user stories and designs with PMs, UX designers, and other developers to understand requirements and provide feedback early in the project lifecycle. Redesigning UIs to improve visual appeal and usability, refactoring code for extensibility, maintainability, and scalability, and testing your code with unit tests, functional tests, and integration tests written with mocha, sinon, should.js, zombie.js, cucumber, and selenium are key responsibilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Frontend web development experience on larger web applications.
  • Experience with web frontend frameworks and libraries.
  • Understanding of HTTP protocol and working with REST APIs.
  • Experience writing scalable, highly-available production software.
  • Understanding of code profiling and optimization for performance.
  • Self-directedness and willingness to unblock yourself.
  • Experience with revision control systems such as Git, Mercurial, or SVN.
  • Developing REST APIs and backend software is a plus.
