Lead Financial Analyst
This role encompasses a broad spectrum of accounting functions, including both routine tasks and specialized projects, ensuring adherence to financial regulations and contributing significantly to our organization's fiscal operations while maintaining precision in accounting practices.
Key responsibilities involve generating financial transactions and analyses, spearheading and engaging in enhancement initiatives, as well as preparing, scrutinizing, and interpreting financial reports and records.
The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of accounting principles and methodologies, exhibit exceptional problem-solving capabilities, and demonstrate meticulous attention to detail. The ability to work autonomously, as well as collaboratively with the Finance team and across various departments, is essential.
This position primarily allows for remote work, with occasional requirements for in-office presence.
Rylem Consulting seeks individuals who are proactive and can approach their work through a lens of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY
This position entails diverse responsibilities, including the development and review of journal entries, as well as the analysis and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to guarantee accurate reporting and ledger maintenance. Responsibilities also include preparing documentation and audit schedules for external auditors and tax form preparation, developing financial policies, and drafting accounting treatment papers. Recommendations for enhancements in financial and accounting processes are also expected. Continuous monitoring of internal control effectiveness and provision of ad hoc reporting support are key aspects of this role.
Participation in various departmental projects and testing requirements is also required. Collaboration with colleagues in the Finance department is essential, and the ability to engage with a diverse workforce is necessary.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent educational experience is required. CPA licensure or an advanced business degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience in a professional setting, ideally within a non-profit or energy & utilities sector.
- Familiarity with financial closing processes is essential.
- Proficiency in software applications such as SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Webex, and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) is required.
- Experience with Great Plains is preferred.
- Ability to write and document business processes is necessary.
- Strong financial analytical skills are required.
- Demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with project management experience preferred.
- Must exhibit strong customer service skills and effectively perform all standard office functions.
