Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Staff Researcher I to join our team at the Colorado Evaluation and Action Lab at the University of Denver. The successful candidate will support research and evidence-building activities across a variety of issue areas, working closely with project directors and partners to design, implement, and disseminate research projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop trusting relationships with project partners and stakeholders, communicating clearly and effectively about project needs and expectations.
  • Use expertise in subject matter and methodology to inform and strengthen project design, deliverables, and actionable dissemination.
  • Complete a variety of analytic tasks, including data collection, management, and analysis, as well as literature reviews and project management.
  • Develop necessary documentation to support replicability and transparency, including data visualizations and insight statements.
  • Facilitate internal and external check-ins and meetings to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Shepherd projects through the Institutional Review Board process and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Effectively communicate orally and in writing to a lay audience about technical, analytic, and policy issues.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in a relevant field, such as public policy, public health, mental health, anthropology, sociology, economics, criminal justice, law, statistics, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience working in or conducting research or evaluation in topic areas relevant to the Colorado Lab's work, including children and youth, education and workforce, justice system, health and mental health.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience working with administrative data and statistical programs such as STATA or R.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with experience working in a collaborative learning environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong orientation towards results and a track record of driving results with limited supervisory direction.
