Job Description

As a key member of the P&C Recruiting and HR team, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our ranks.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical and strategic asset management support to maintenance and operations teams across our physical assets. This role requires collaboration with the Reliability Engineer to identify equipment failure root causes and implement permanent solutions.

We are looking for someone with a strong background in electrical engineering and experience working with power distribution and instrumentation systems. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough engineering analyses and perform computer-related tasks such as drawings, spreadsheets, and database compilations.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technical concepts and troubleshooting skills for high-voltage systems and components.
  • Facilitate ongoing maintenance of power distribution switchgear, 5KV motors, and their control systems.
  • Perform calculations to ensure our systems meet global safety standards and collaborate with technicians and computer programmers to resolve emerging issues.
  • Monitor adherence to electrical engineering codes and safety standards on site.
  • Manage engineering design consultants, including all process design activities associated with capital projects.
  • Assist in tendering and awarding engineering design requirements.
  • Provide design input to engineering design consultants to ensure designs meet operating requirements and permitting requirements.
  • Ensure engineering design schedules are managed to meet construction schedule requirements.
  • Oversee the construction and commissioning of all electrical projects and systems.
  • E-TAP model management.
  • Update one-line and prints.
  • Ensure correct operating procedures are followed regarding safety, environmental, and project objectives.
  • Implement project delivery systems and tools.
  • Ensure compliance with all project management systems, including document control integrity, contractor management, scope change control, and provide oversight during commission.
  • Develop or help develop standards and SOPs as required by the site.
  • Implement Operate for Reliability strategies in all aspects of work.

Requirements:

We are offering a competitive salary of $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a similar role. Experience in the mining industry is preferred, including a general knowledge of surface, underground, and concentrator operations.

The ideal candidate will be computer literate and proficient in AutoCAD and MS Office Applications, with experience working with computerized maintenance management systems a plus.
