Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Program Aide Specialist to join our team at Desert Choice Schools.

In this role, you will provide direct instructional support to individuals and/or groups of students using applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy. Your primary goal will be to help students with special needs develop academic, daily living, and self-help skills, social and emotional regulation, flexible thinking, language development, and motor development through play-based therapy.

The ideal candidate will possess a genuine desire to make a positive impact in the lives of children with special needs, along with a steady supply of compassion, empathy, enthusiasm, kindness, goodwill, and reliability.

As a Program Aide Specialist, you will work closely with certified staff to reinforce academic behaviors taught in the classroom and provide students with opportunities to practice these skills in various settings.

You will also be responsible for collecting data regarding student progress towards their goals/objectives and implementing district-approved techniques for verbal de-escalation and safe physical restraint.

The salary for this position is $17.50 per hour, with an additional $0.50 per hour for candidates holding a bachelor's degree. This is a full-time, 10-month position with unpaid school breaks.
