Job Responsibilities The Pharmacy Student Success Coach supports Wegmans School of Pharmacy students in navigating their academic journey by identifying challenges and providing resources to enhance their success and retention. This role collaborates with the student success network, faculty, and administration to deliver proactive, student-centered support and improve academic and professional outcomes.

  • Provide individualized and group support to address non-academic challenges impacting student success (e.g., time management, tutoring, mental health referrals).
  • Establish a trusting environment where students can share their thoughts, aspirations, concerns, and interests while fostering a supportive and professional environment using active learning, reflective thinking and confidential debriefing processes.
  • Provide regular touchpoints, create individual development plans, and facilitate reflective exercises with students that have experienced academic difficulties and are on hybrid plans.
  • Serve as a member of the Student Success Committee, responsible for maintaining connection and outreach to students who are on hybrid plans and Leave of Absence.
  • Develop, curate, and disseminate resources to support student success, including workshops, support programs, and faculty guidance materials, in collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs.
  • Collaborate with faculty to deliver transitional programming to set incoming students up for success and provide a smooth matriculation process. Support student success programming, such as orientation and immersion experiences.
  • Coordinate the facilitation of student make-up exam sessions.
  • Work collaboratively with the Student Success Coach for the online pathway.
  • Ensures processes are in place to track, monitor and record student completion and/or program outcomes. Review and develop action plan based on student and faculty feedback for improvement of program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Office of Student Affairs
Education / Experience Bachelor's degree and 2 years of relevant experience required. Master's degree and at least 1 year experience with student affairs or health profession education and/or graduate programs preferred. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Competencies / Skills Applicants should have:
  • Demonstrable experience supporting students in both individualized and group settings
  • Ability to work with a diverse student population to provide a variety of student support and triage services to students
  • In-depth knowledge of academic success strategies, such as time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills to engage with student and faculty stakeholders
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times, as required by policies and standards
  • Self-motivation - work independently and have strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer skills
  • Familiarity with common computer office programs (e.g. Microsoft Office, Adobe, Google Suite) and student information systems
  • Ability to learn new computer-based applications quickly
  • Prior working knowledge of basic office/teaching machinery (e.g. copier/printers, scanners, projectors)
