We are seeking an Estimating Manager to lead the estimating team in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for ship repair and maintenance projects. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with extensive experience in shipyard operations and a strong ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.The Estimating Manager will be responsible for final submittal of complex cost estimates and bid packages provided to U.S. Navy and commercial customers.

*Estimating Manager Responsibilities*



* Lead and manage the estimating team in developing cost estimates for ship repair and maintenance projects.

* Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare accurate estimates.

* Develop and maintain standardized estimating processes and tools to ensure consistency and accuracy.

* Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for estimates.

* Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure alignment with project requirements and budgets.

* Monitor and analyze project costs to identify trends and areas for improvement.

* Provide training and mentorship to junior estimators to develop their skills and knowledge.


*Estimating Manager Position Requirements*



*  Knowledge of Navy Vessels and ship construction methods

* NAVSEA standards as well as federal and state regulations

* Ability to read technical drawings and understand government contracts.

* Experience with proposal writing.

* Highly experienced with Microsoft Office, Excel.

* Obtain and maintain TWIC and Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential to gain access to federally controlled work sites
