Apply TodayJob Summary and QualificationsDirects and coordinates the activities of Respiratory Care staff. Assists the department manager with assignments of shift activities and follow up to ensure that assignments are completed as ordered by the physicians. Provides and oversees delivery of respiratory care to neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent and geriatric patients. Assists with ensuring compliance with CAP standards for blood gas laboratory. May act as interim manager during absence of department manager.Perform routine patient assessment upon admission and prior discharge.Develop and evaluate patient goals and objectives.Perform patient education.Perform evaluation of clinical documentation and chart review of respiratory care notes.Monitor and evaluate competency skills of respiratory staff.Develop and perform respiratory staff training.Interact with Physicians and Allied Health Professionals regarding patient care and objectives of respiratory care.Assist in the development and evaluation of departmental policies and procedures.Assist in the education, training and discussion of departmental policies and procedures with other health professionals and/or students.Perform other tasks as directed by the Respiratory Care department manager.
