Production Engineer Position Summary: As a Production Engineer at Replex, you will drive continuous improvement in manufacturing, tackle operational challenges, and collaborate with the production team, Plant Manager, and Senior Maintenance Tech. You will oversee engineering projects, foster vendor relationships, manage CAPEX projects, and train operators. You will also help implement initiatives like the ERP system in 2025 and contribute to Replexs Leadership Team. The position will provide opportunities for continued career growth and development. The Production Engineer is a hands-on generalist, not a narrow specialist.
Production Engineer Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Develop the information needed for Replex to respond to new item inquiries, including performing 3-axis and 5-axis CNC programming using Solidworks and AlphaCAM software, and obtaining tool quotes from vendors
- Manage Capital Expenditure Projects to ensure timely completion, on budget
- Lead and manage process improvement projects in manufacturing. Lean manufacturing principles, including Deming principles, SMED, 5S, one-piece flow, and POU storage are foundational concepts for Replex.
- Provide leadership to the Replex Way quality management system. Make sure Replex is operating in a manner consistent with TRWM and ensure that Replex maintains its ISO:9001-2015 certification.
- Deals with all environmental issues including EPA reporting & permitting, TSCA, RoHS, REACH, and others.
- Supports the Plant Manager by doing root cause analysis of problems resulting in customer credits or complaints and developing solutions to prevent recurrence of the same problems.
- Analyses production and financial data and proposes ideas for process improvement projects.
- Oversees the maintenance and improvement of Replexs building and grounds.
- Leads energy efficiency improvement and sustainability efforts.
Production Engineer Qualifications for Success:
- 5 to 10 years experience manufacturing maintenance and engineering.
- Understanding lean manufacturing principles, including Deming principles, is critical.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Able to learn all Replex processes to support maintenance in troubleshooting and if needed, assist in repairs.
- Good Excel spreadsheet skills.
- Good communication skills. Specifically good questioning skills when troubleshooting a production process.
- Strong collaboration working with Replex management and production team members
- Well organized and well self-managed. Can summarize and report status briefly on 20+ projects
- Financial literacy: able to understand manufacturing product costing, P&L, and make sound business decisions based on what will or will not be a profitable new opportunity. Able to discern and kill bad projects early.
- Engineering college degree is helpful but is not an absolute requirement
