Senior Staff Accountant:The Senior Staff Accountant assists in the maintenance of the organization’s general ledger, provides analytical support for the Accounting Department and assumes a lead role for the Staff Accountants. The Senior Staff Accountant also provides technical assistance to users of the accounting system and works closely with management on ways to improve overall operational efficiency. Senior accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks.Responsibilities: Maintain and update community budgetsHeavy journal entries during monthPurchase agreement gross margin analysisHelp prepare monthly reporting packagesAssist in meeting the monthly closing schedule, including monthly budget updatesAssist in preparation and review of property tax payments, personal property schedules, and G&A analysisReview and prepare general ledger account reconciliations.Assist internal and external auditors as needed.Prepare and process depositsHandle other duties and special projects as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree with emphasis in accounting and finance.2+ years’ experience in an accounting roleCPA preferredReal estate and/or construction experience is a plusAdvanced Excel Skills, JD Edwards experience and Essbase/Hyperion a plusExposure to fast pace work environmentLife at Lennar:Lennar recognizes our associates are the heart of the company’s success.
