Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS) has an opening for a Principal Engineer Guidance, Navigation, & Control (GNC) or a Senior Principal Engineer Guidance, Navigation, & Control . This position is located in San Diego, CA . Though not expected, up to 10% travel may be required to perform the statement of work.
The selected candidate will engage with the CoreVMS team to modernize and add new features to a common GNC Simulink implementation used by new programs at NGAS. This work is associated with the design, development, implementation of software and simulation tools to perform Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) of aircraft. This opportunity provides the candidate to work with numerous aircraft programs.
This position can be filled at either the Principal Engineer or Sr Principal Engineer level.
Basic Qualifications:
* Basic qualifications for an Engineer Guidance Navigation Control include a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 5 years of experience, a Master's Degree in STEM with 3 years of experience, or a PhD Degree with no experience
* Basic qualifications for a Principal Engineer Guidance Navigation Control include a Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and at least 8 years of experience, a Master's Degree in STEM with 6 years of experience, or a PhD Degree with 3 years of experience.
* Proficient with Matlab and Simulink
* Knowledge of C/C++ and Python
* Knowledge of flight sciences, control law development, or control system analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in Inner- and/or Outer-Loop Flight Control System Design and Analysis.
* An active / in-scope DOD Secret clearance
Salary Range: $107,300 - $160,900
Salary Range 2: $133,000 - $199,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
