About the Job
At Northrop Grumman, we are seeking a talented Aerospace Guidance Navigation Control Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our CoreVMS team, you will play a critical role in modernizing and adding new features to a common GNC Simulink implementation used by new programs at NGAS.
About the Role
This position is located in San Diego, CA, and may require up to 10% travel to perform the statement of work. The selected candidate will engage with the CoreVMS team to design, develop, and implement software and simulation tools for Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) of aircraft. This opportunity provides the chance to work with numerous aircraft programs and contribute to the development of cutting-edge technology.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Designing and developing software and simulation tools for GNC of aircraft;
- Collaborating with the CoreVMS team to modernize and add new features to the common GNC Simulink implementation;
- Engaging with various stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and deployment of new features;
- Maintaining and upgrading existing software and simulation tools to ensure optimal performance and reliability;
- Providing technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
Requirements
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, candidates must possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) and at least 5 years of experience, or a Master's degree in STEM with 3 years of experience, or a PhD degree with no experience;
- Proficient knowledge of Matlab and Simulink;
- Knowledge of C/C++ and Python programming languages;
- Familiarity with flight sciences, control law development, or control system analysis;
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
