  • Job Overview: The Food Service Supervisor

    • We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Food Service Supervisor to oversee, enhance, and ensure a pleasant dining experience for our patients and guests.  The Food Service Supervisor will maintain a positive and respectful relationship with team members, engage with patients and guests in a professional, dignified manner, and inform management of potential service and product issues before they arise.  It is considered essential personnel that contributes to the health and wellness of our patients and the community. At Manatee Memorial, Quality Healthcare is our Passion and Improving Lives is our Reward.  All appropriate training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided to keep you and your family safe and healthy. 

    The Food Service Supervisor will manage the Cafe staff.  Will help with the setup and cleanup of the Cafe.  Apportions and places food servings in container.  Cleans and sanitizes workstations and counters.  May brew coffee.   Complies with all HACCP policies and procedures. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner. Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures. Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments. Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.  May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    This position reports to the Cafe Retail Manager.

Qualifications

Job Qualifications: Experience/Knowledge: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.  Serving experience preferred.  Skills/Aptitude:  Presents self in a highly professional manner to others and understands that honesty and ethics are essential. Ability to maintain a positive attitude. Ability to communicate with co-workers and other departments with professionalism and respect. Maintains a professional relationship with all coworkers, supervisors, managers, and all customers. Basic food-handling skills. License/Qualifications Certifications: None. General Qualifications: Willingness to be open to learning and growing. Maturity of judgment and behavior. Maintains high standards for work areas and appearance.  Maintains a positive attitude. Ability to work a flexible schedule helpful.  Must comply with dress code requirements. Must be able to work weekdays, rotating weekends, and some holidays. Attends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity. Physical Requirements:  Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses. Ability to work in a standing position for long periods (up to 8 hours).

 

Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and lift up to 25 pounds.  Working Conditions (may add additional conditions specific to defined work location): Generally, in an indoor setting; while performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in a controlled, temperate environment; however, may be exposed to heat/cold during support of outside activities. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
