We are looking for a dedicated Respiratory Therapy Student Tech PRN like you to be a part of our team.Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Respiratory Therapy Student Technician, you will be under the supervision of a licensed respiratory care practitioner (RCP) and administer non-invasive respiratory care/therapy to patients as ordered by the attending physician. You will perform noninvasive diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, therapy under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor or Respiratory Therapy Charge Therapist. You will participate in providing patient specific standards as directed, and follow service excellence standards to ensure high levels of patient satisfaction.You will administer and monitor respiratory therapy treatmentsYou will record patient information on patient medical recordYou will perform non-invasive diagnostic tests and non-invasive respiratory therapy, i.e. nebulizer therapyYou will administer and monitor continuous oxygen therapyJob RequirementsEducationHigh School diploma or equivalent or higher level of educationCurrently enrolled in an accredited respiratory care program and completion of two semesters – preferredActive student status must be maintained and documentedLicenses and CertificationsMust be presently enrolled in an accredited respiratory care program, pursuant to Texas licensureBasic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. David’s HealthCare policyAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification as per St. David’s HealthCare policy – preferredSt. David’s North Austin Medical Center is a multi-specialty hospital in Texas withmore than 360 beds.
