Procurement Specialist

We're hiring a Procurement Specialist to support our procurement team in Bloomington, Indiana

The Procurement Function is responsible for strategic sourcing, driving cost savings, supplier relationship management, supplier risk management, business continuity and procurement process development across the site. 

The Procurement Specialist will have a dual role in supporting the local direct and indirect procurement managers in delivering key initiatives, as well as creating efficiencies for the entire site.  In this role, this individual will efficiently support the execution of a variety of projects that support the business including cost savings, cash preservation, negotiations, and a variety of other procurement projects to support the overall business objectives that will deliver value to Catalent.  This is a full-time, salaried position and is site based. The schedule is Monday - Friday 1st shift.

Catalent Biologics in Bloomington, Indiana is a state-of-the-art, GMP manufacturing facility, providing one million sq/ft of drug substance manufacturing, drug product manufacturing, and related pharmaceutical services. This award-winning facility helps customers accelerate biologic drug development programs and bring better treatments to help patients live better, healthier lives.   

The Role

• Collaborate with the Site Procurement Managers and stakeholders to ensure proper alignment meeting expectations on a monthly/yearly project coverage plan.

• Support the Site Procurement Senior Manager to ensure that the spend report analysis is updated, drive cost reduction opportunities, conduct supply risk assessments, and assess supplier performance management.

• Responsible for supplier onboarding and new vendor/supplier set up.

• Ensure that the Global Procurement Savings Tracker (GPST) is updated and is accurate.

• Support projects in close collaboration with local teams and Global Procurement for supplier selection, negotiation, and contract implementation.

• Support supplier material escalations.

• Support contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with contracts developed locally or globally.

• Identify and implement short-, mid- and long-term plans to simplify procurement processes by using lean principals best industry practice.

• Follow local procurement processes and procedures.

• Interact and communicate with stakeholders to ensure expectations are established, agreed to, and achieved. 

• Identifies and works with functional areas as appropriate.  

• Other duties as assigned.

 The Candidate

• High School/GED, required.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, highly preferred.

• PMP Certification or equivalent, preferred. 

• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience, in procurement or supply chain. 

• Quality, biologics, pharmaceutical, and technical background, preferred. 

• Working knowledge of pharmaceutical industry and GMPs. 

• Must be able to read and understand English-written job instructions and safety requirements.
