Southwire Job Description

Job Summary / Objectives:

The Director of Construction Planning and Solution Services team will grow Southwire's industry leading electrical contractor construction offerings which provide solutions to address labor shortages and incomplete project designs in the electrical industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working directly with electrical contractors to provide Southwire solutions and construction services.
  • Working closely with Southwire's internal as well as external sales channel including agent representatives and electrical distributors.
  • Manage a team of BIM/VDC professionals dedicated to providing construction design and constructability solutions
  • Analyze construction projects and provide optimized solutions which drive Southwire products and create substantial savings for the electrical contractor
  • Manage prefabricated solutions including advanced cable bundling
  • Understanding the electrical contractor project-based workflows and sequencing along with the associated construction supply-chain stakeholders, their specific business drivers, and challenges, along with identifying pain points and de-bottlenecking processes throughout the construction lifecycle phases.
  • Work through specific project-based contractor opportunities and challenges (internally and externally) to achieve high value goals and outcomes.
  • Overseeing planning and layout of complex electrical systems including lighting, power, control, instrumentation.
  • Provide key preconstruction services for cable installation including low voltage and medium voltage systems
  • Drive solution systems standardization at the earliest stages project design and construction planning
