They will help connect communities to who and what matters most through the installation, maintenance and repair of cables, equipment, and infrastructure. Ultimately, this work ensures the reliability of Spectrums advanced network and delivers service to people who would not otherwise have it.

As an Underground Construction Technician, youll be part of an experienced team completing construction projects that support the performance of our fiber optic network. Your diligence and ability to execute workfrom start to finishensures projects are completed right and on time. As you learn new skills, you can grow professionally and advance within the Company.

Working as an Underground Construction Technician means working in all weather conditionshot summer days, cold winter mornings and a mix of different terrains. Traveling is a regular part of the job, as you go to new locations to complete key projects. WHAT YOULL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: OSP underground construction/maintenance experience: 2-4 years
  • Education: High school diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge:Understand outside plant construction standards.
  • Skills: Attention to detail, teamwork, initiative, communication, adaptability, consistency
  • Abilities: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to dig in all types of soil. Willingness to learn, handle tools and equipment, physical abilities like bending, squatting and lifting occasionally heavy material
  • Travel Ability: Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record; youll travel 80% of the time to complete projects at different sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Class A CDL (commercial drivers license)
  • OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) certification
