Learn more about NC3 and SAOC here.As a Sr. Systems Security Engineer, you will be using your skills and expertise to design, test, and implement our secure operating systems, networks, security monitoring, and tuning. You'll be responsible for the management of SNC and the DoD information security systems and applications, incident response, digital forensics, loss prevention, conducting risk and vulnerability assessments, and implementing security controls. You'll research, evaluate, and recommend new security tools, techniques, and technologies in alignment with SNC and DoD security strategies and implementation as applicable. Additional duties of a Senior System Security Engineer include but are not limited to effective mentorship, training, and tasking of other SNC and sub-contractor personnel to ensure taskings and activities align to the SNC and DoD execution strategies.This position aligns under the ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area the leader in ISR and aviation. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries.   https://www.sncorp.com/company/business-areas/Responsibilities:Serve as a Sr. System Security Engineer providing technical input, recommendations, and assistance with the implementation of both higher and granular-level cyber security approaches, methods and solutions that incorporate and maintain compliance to requirements resulting from laws, regulations, and other pertinent guidanceParticipate in acquisition meetings (PMR, PDR, CDR, etc.), concept of operation (CONOP) working groups, change boards, technical exchange meetings and other similar activitiesAssist in the design and deployment of systems and networks that encompass multiple enclaves to include those with differing data protection/classification requirements IAW NIST SP800-53, ICD 503, RMF, and CNSSI 1253Knowledge of the security posture and accreditation process of Cross Domain SolutionsHigh level full scope knowledge and experience in all phases of the Risk Management FrameworkEmploy best practices when implementing security requirements for information systems including Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) methodologies, system/security engineering principles, secure design, secure architecture, and secure coding techniquesWork between architecture-level and implementation-level engineering meetings to maintain a system-wide view of security functions and apply risk mitigation strategies at the appropriate levelGuide and verify SNC and sub-contractors’ work against program requirements and goals, including but not limited to participating in technical discussions, trade studies and working groups, and conducting research on industry best practices for potential implementationEvaluate newly identified threats and vulnerabilities to SNC and DoD information systems to ascertain the need for additional safeguards and develop timely implementation strategies to reduce riskEnforce the design and implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architecturesAssess proposed changes to SNC and DoD information systems, their operational environment, and mission needs for impacts to cybersecurity architectures and continued compliance with cybersecurity requirementsProvide inputs to development SNC and DoD teams responsible for designing and developing Test & Evaluation, Operational, Training, and Software Integration Lab information systemsKeep abreast of current and new security technologies and threats to better support SNC and the DoD in maintaining cybersecurity resilienceIdentify integration issues related to the implementation of new information systems within the existing infrastructure; recommend mitigation and/or resolution options as appropriateMust Haves:Seeking individual to work well along other senior engineers, subject matter expert/architects as well as other system technicians in a team environmentSuperb communication skills requested, along with ability to work with other vendors, contractors, and DoD organizations to achieve best resultsPolished and professional writing skills demonstrated by the creation of detailed reports and meaningfully organized data that allows senior leadership to make rapid assessments and decisionsAlways exhibits an attitude that promotes a positive work environment in high paced, challenging circumstances Solution-oriented view to any challengeUnderstanding of and experience with change and configuration management principles and policies while adhering to strict guidelines and policy set forth by the DoDSuperior interpersonal skills, patience, clear oral communications, an ability to convert technical jargon into layman’s terms and the ability to juggle priorities on-the-flyBachelor's degree in Systems Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related Engineering discipline and 10+ years of relevant experience. * Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required educationActive SECRET or Top Secret security clearance requiredPreferred:ISSM CAP, CISSP, CCSP, or CISM CertificationISSE CAP, CISSP-ISSEP CertificationSecurity+, CISA, or CASP+ CertificationMCSE, Linux, and/or CCNP Security CertificationAt Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) we deliver customer-focused technology and best-of-breed integrations in the aerospace and defense sectors.
