DescriptionThe Opportunity:As the Dietz and Watson, Inc. Warehouse Operations Manager, you will (1) supervise the receipt, dispatching, and storage of merchandise in our warehouse; (2) oversee picking, storage, receiving, dispatching, security, maintenance, and administrative functions; (3) oversee, train, evaluate and reward staff; and (4) ensure the maintenance of employer assets.To ensure success, you need to multitask effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and perform your duties in a manner that maximizes profits. And our Master cheese makers create our hand-churned, small batch cheeses with the same commitment to "quality above all".Anticipated Schedule:You will work on site at our Philadelphia Distribution Center and provide leadership and management to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. Warehouse leadership is expected to be onsite sufficient to provide effective leadership to each shift as operational needs require.Warehouse Manager Responsibilities:• Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company's policies and vision.• Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations.• Setup layout and ensure efficient space utilization.• Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.• Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements.• Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security.• Manage stock control and reconcile with data storage system.• Prepare annual budget.• Liaise with suppliers and transport companies.• Plan work schedules, assign tasks appropriately, and appraise results.• Recruit, select, orient, coach, and motivate employees.• Produce metrics for warehouse functions.• Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.• Routinely review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Minimum RequirementsWarehouse Manager Requirements:• BA/BS degree in logistics, supply chain management, or business administration (MA/MS in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or organization development & change preferred). Equivalent experience will be considered.• 5+ years of warehouse management experience.• Excellent understanding of warehouse management procedures.• Proficient knowledge of inventory and inventory controls.• Proficient computer skills.• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.• Outstanding leadership, organizational, multitasking, analytics, and problem-solving skills.• Strong interpersonal skills working with a diverse workforce.• Due to the refrigeration that is required for the products, the warehouse temperature varies from 28 to 33 degrees (F).• Available to work extended hours and provide regular hands-on presence during 24-hour operations, consisting of three shifts.• Lean Six Sigma Experience, with capabilities of launching a Lean Program.• Strong WMS experience.• Experience creating KPIs.• Experience in a privately held and/or family-owned business is a plus.• Experience supervising approximately 12+ front line supervisors and approximately 100+ hourly associates is a plus.• Experience supervising a three-shift warehouse operation is a plus.• Education and experience in organizational development and change is a plus.• Military experience welcomed.Benefits:In addition to competitive market-based compensation, Dietz & Watson, Inc. provides excellent employer provided health and welfare benefits with modest employee premium contributions (e.g., medical, telemedicine, prescription, vision, dental, basic group life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, short term disability, long term disability, employee assistance program, Medicare supplemental insurance, and voluntary/supplemental insurance such as accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity).
