Description Seasonal CT TechnologistRapides Regional Medical CenterShift: PRNPay: $76/hourPROGRAM REQUIREMENTS · All seasonal employees are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period during the seasonal period. · All positions require 1 year of experience. · Three (3) weekend shifts are required each 4-week schedule period. · During the course of the 32-week period, the employee is required to work two (2) holiday shifts (defined by Department Manager or designee). · Within a close geography, you may be asked to float to another facility that has an emergent staffing need. · Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There are no guaranteed hours by the hospital. · Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401(k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy. · Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for extra shift bonuses (D1/CND, D2/ECD, and D3/EVD) · Current FT/PT/PRN employees are not eligible to join the Seasonal program for 2023-2024 · Current employees of HWS are not eligible for the seasonal program. · Shifts may vary based on the needs of the department. Unlock your potentialJob Summary and QualificationsResponsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients.Determines the most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly.Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.Works under the direction of the Radiologist at all times.Takes x-ray, CT call according to monthly schedule after the closing of regular department hours.Competent in the use of CR and PACS.Assesses, evaluates and informs physician of changes in patient’s condition during an exam.Completes all work before leaving including checking with the nurses’ stations, ER, Surgery, holding, etc.Performs all quality control checks, as prescribed.Maintains accurate QC logs, service records, etc.Performs highest quality imaging consistent with prescribed exam; documents any deviations.Understands contraindications and potential hazards of different exams.Interacts professionally with patient/family.Ascertains patient understanding of process and informed consent.Understands and practices proper use of all equipment; never operates equipment inconsistent with manufacturer’s instruction.Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the following age groups: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, geriatric and general population.Must be acquainted with local fire and safety regulations.Has knowledge of hospital policies and functions of other departments.Able to modify job duties and communicate with customers in an age appropriate manner.Appropriately assesses the patient’s pain and involves the patient in effective management of the pain using age appropriate interventions.Completes annual educational requirements.Maintains regulatory requirements.Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time.Consistently completes and maintains assigned duties; maintains PAR levels.Wears identification while on duty; uses computerized punch time system correctly.Completes in-services and returns in a timely fashion.Attends annual review and departmental in-services, as scheduled.Attends required staff meetings.Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activitiesBasic computer knowledge.Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminologyA high level of cross-sectional anatomyProficiency with most major CT equipment manufacturers’ hardware and softwareWhat qualifications you will need:Basic Cardiac Life SupportCPRRegistered Radiographer (ARRT)State Registered Radiologic TechnicianRapides Regional Medical Center is a 350+ bed hospital and ER in Alexandria, Louisiana.
