You’re also looking for great benefits, the support of an all-star team, and an opportunity to grow your career.Join our front line of #HealthcareHeroes Our mission is to advance the health and wellbeing of our communities as a leader in clinical laboratory solutions.Location: Port Charlotte, FLDays: Monday - FridayHours:  8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (Saturdays when coverage is needed)Full-time: Benefit Eligible In this role, you will:Perform tasks normally associated with supervision such as hiring, training, coaching, scheduling, directing and appraising the work of assigned staffWill be a working supervisor role in which the incumbent will also perform the work of those supervisedThis position has direct reportsHold regularly scheduled one on ones with direct reports on at least a monthly basisIs an advocate for direct reports regarding ensuring ideas are heard/shared and in their career progression planning and effortsAdhere to laboratory’s quality control policies, document all quality control activities, and maintain a clean and well-organized work area.Maintain proficiency and training requirements.Ensure compliance with all local, federal and CLIA regulations.Participate in inventory management, special projects and perform other duties as assigned by management.Assist in staff development and training.Assists the Lab Manager in the maintenance/upkeep of CLIA documentation and records (including supervising/verifying completion of daily records and tracking documents), and preparation for CAP and CLIA inspections.Communicate with pathologists regarding laboratory issues, client’s needs, and respond quickly and efficiently to concerns/feedback regarding histology within the lab.Track and monitor laboratory quality indicators.Answer technical questions from pathologists and clients regarding lab processes and histology workflows.All you need is:Possesses an Associate degree in Histology, Biology, Chemistry or other related field, a Bachelor degree is preferred; degree must satisfy the CLIA standards for Grossing Surgical Specimens (12 course hours of Biology and Chemistry combined)5 or more years experience in the histology fieldHold and maintain the HT or HTL (ASCP) certification.May accept additional education and/or experience in lieu of certification when certification is not a jurisdictional requirement for the jobWe’ll give you:Appreciation for your workA feeling of satisfaction that you’ve helped peopleOpportunity to grow in your professionFree lab services for you and your dependentsWork-life balance, including Paid Time Off and Paid HolidaysCompetitive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insuranceHelp saving for retirement, with a 401(k) plus a company matchA sense of belonging – we’re a communityWe also want you to know:This role will have routine access to Protected Health Information (PHI).
