QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER     Indianapolis, INSalary Range: $90-100,000            Shift | Hours: 1st shift | Monday – Friday (Saturday as needed)The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring that all products produced in the food manufacturing facility meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements.REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Food Science or related field (Biology, Microbiology, Food Microbiology, etc.).At least 5 years of work experience as quality assurance auditor/supervisor in the High-Speed Bakery manufacturing industry;Good understanding of quality testing within the food and beverage industry to include analytical, microbiological, and sensory evaluation;Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills;Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities;Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, HACCP);Familiarity with statistical process control and data analysis tools;Certification in Quality Management (e.g., ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence) is a plus;Physical demands are consistent with working in a production facility and may include standing or walking for long periods of time and work in hot, cold, wet, dusty, and slick environments. This position also requires the ability to lift, lower and carry up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements;Conduct regular audits to assess adherence to established quality standards and identify areas for improvement;Ensure documentation and record-keeping procedures are followed consistently;Lead and manage the Quality Assurance team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a high level of competence and motivation;Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality consciousness within the team;Establish and enforce product quality specifications, standards, and testing procedures;Collaborate with production and R&D teams to implement and monitor process controls to maintain product consistency;Stay abreast of relevant food safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices;Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including FDA, USDA, and other applicable agencies;Evaluate and monitor the performance of suppliers and vendors to ensure they meet quality and safety standards;Collaborate with the procurement team to qualify new suppliers and conduct regular supplier audits;Investigate and address customer complaints related to product quality promptly and effectively;Implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize the recurrence of quality issues;Develop and deliver training programs to ensure all employees are educated on quality standards, procedures, and regulations;Promote a culture of quality awareness and accountability throughout the organization;Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance overall operational efficiency and product quality;Utilize data analysis and statistical tools to monitor and improve key quality metrics;Performs other required tasks as assigned.
