We are hiring immediately for a Mission Systems Engineer to join our team in Westminster, CO.Day In The Life:Each day as a Mission System Engineer on our team brings new challenges and breakthroughs. You might start by collaborating closely with mission, spacecraft bus and payload experts to explore a tradespace of remote sensing technologies, concepts, and their implications. Next you might work with your teammates to weave together a sophisticated toolchain that assesses the boundaries of various aspects of a potential mission. Later, you might work with other team leads to craft the key framework and documents needed to acquire the major space elements that will blaze the trail for our next complex system that will soon orbit Earth. Here you have the authority to make a real impact, the flexibility to explore new ideas, and the chance to build something meaningful in space that transforms how we see our world.Minimum Qualifications: Must be a US Citizen and willing and able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance at TS/SCI levelBachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or related field of study10+ years’ experience with space systemsProficiency in systems engineering principles and methods for space systems analysisKnowledge of Orbital Mechanics, with an emphasis on LEO, and the factors influencing system design for hosting EOIR sensorsFamiliarity with space-to-ground communication systemsPreferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Laser Communication Terminals and inter-satellite link techniques, methods, and principlesFamiliarity with key image quality metrics, particularly Ground Sample Distance (GSD) and related resolution parametersKnowledge of advanced image processing including compression, and filteringFamiliarity with AI/ML algorithms for processing and feature enhancementExperience with technology road mapping and business developmentKnowledge of RF and or SAR remote sensing systemsComfortable interacting with customersActive TS/SCI clearanceLife with Us: There is a reason we boast awards like Best Employer, Best Place to work, Top employer, candidate experience winner. The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.● The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $104,000.00 - $174,000.00 annually.For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
