Must be process oriented and detailed.BENEFITS |Annual Bonus: Tied to sales objectives and personal performance.PTO: 2 Weeks Vacation & 7 holidays401 K: Up to 5% matchHealth/Dental /Vision: BCBS MassLife/AD&D InsuranceBASIC FUNCTIONS|The Research and Development Chef reports directly to the Director R&D.You will be responsible for customer development, project management and the learning of factory technical applications to support the delivery of new business and profitable sales growth.This role will require strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.MANAGEMENT SCOPE |Management ResponsibilityESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |Work together cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Quality Assurance, Purchasing and Operations to ensure ongoing customer support and continuous pipeline of innovation of new products that delight customers and consumersDemonstrate the ability to work together as part of a cross functional team, following direction and recipes carefully. Culinary related degree and/or practical culinary experience within the food manufacturing industry, artisan baking experience a plus.Initiate, investigate and implement improved formulations, develop process improvements and cost savings projects. To serve as technical consultant to all operating departments of the company.Proven track record with coaching, engaging and professionally developing team members with a focus on developing functional, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Will lead and motivate team members through ongoing feedback and stretch assignments.Ability to effectively work and communicate with individuals at varying levels within the company; management, plant team members, customers.To possess the ability to be self-directed, forward thinking and make complex decisions that drive business performance.Develop strategies, establish tactics and priorities, and implement plans to commercialize products in concert with the direction from Marketing and Sales within the framework of the organization s stage - gate process.Implementing new technologies and ingredients through partnering with key vendors, academics, and public research.Directs the development of medium and long-range strategic plans for the R&D function and develops and maintains resource planning and tracking tools to ensure the highest return on the technical investment.Must have experience to support budget management related to development.Ability to operate in ambiguity when process and tools are not readily available and ability to effectively build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external customers.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to gather complex issues and translate them into concrete action plans. Computer literate in Microsoft Office suit Must have excellent math skills - must be able to formulate food products.
