Will accurately receive, sort and accession specimens sent to Cunningham Pathology for preparation and diagnosis. Accountable for all technical, personnel, quality control and administrative functions in order to produce timely, high-quality specimen receiving, accession data entry, test ordering, and distribution of workload to other laboratory departments.Directs the activities of the department staff to ensure efficiency by optimizing accessioning workflow to expeditiously deliver specimens to other departments while maintaining critical focus on quality.Receives and processes derm, surgical, cytology and clinical specimens from referring physicians, ensuring accurate specimen identification and documentation on all logs. Duties consist of but are not limited to the following:Receives and accounts for all specimensDocuments receipt of specimens utilizing standard format and notationsSort specimens by specimen typeEnsures requisitions are completed correctly/completelyAccurately performs data entry of all patient and site informationAll you need is:Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience2+ years previous supervisory experience preferred.
