Job Objective:
Directly responsible for the 24 hour Orange County Rape Crisis Services Programs including maintaining compliance with the following contracts: Orange County District Attorney's Office, United Way of the Dutchess and Orange Regions, NYS Office of Victims Services, NYS Department of Criminal Justice Services, Family Services/Sexual Violence Prevention Community Mobilization Regional Collaborative, OC Department of Mental Health, NYS Coalition Against Sexual Assault and NYS Department of Health.
Perform duties while actively promoting an environment consistent with MHA's Cultural Equity Policy and WELCOME Orange.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, supervise, and assess program staff which includes: Senior Victim Services Coordinator, two Victim Services Community Education Coordinators, and Senior Sexual Assault Examiner (SAE). Generates formal written employee evaluations annually. Reviews and approves all program staff time cards and/or timesheets, accrued time off requests, project reports, correspondence and financial expenditures.
- Oversee, monitor and track services provided by independent contractors which include Sr. SAE and Clinician.
- Provide direct services to sexual assault survivors and significant others as necessary. Serves as primary backup for Rape Survivor Advocacy Program.
- Provide educational services to the community regarding rape crisis issues.
- Attends community awareness events.
- Provides oversight to the overall operation of the Sexual Assault Examiner (SAE) Program located at Garnett Health Medical Center in Middletown, Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall (MSLCH) Hospital in Newburgh and Keller Army Community Hospital (KACH) in West Point. Ensure sufficient staffing and competencies of Sexual Assault Examiners.
- Represent agency and program at local, regional and statewide meetings, conference and coalitions.
- Provides oversight of the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), ensuring participation of first responders and discussion regarding best practice.
- Initiates and oversees the Rape Survivor Advocacy Program's services contracts with area hospitals, police departments and the District Attorney's office.
- Develops memorandums of understanding with community partners including hospitals, schools, military installations, police departments and legal services.
- Oversees continued development and launch of NYS Department of Health community mobilization project. Serve as liaison to Family Services in Dutchess County, regional lead agency.
- Collects, submits, and tracks Forensic Rape Examination forms to Garnett Health Medical Center, MSLCH and KACH.
- Fosters and develops working relationships with area victim service agencies, law enforcement, District Attorney and police agencies.
- Ensures renewal and compliance of grant contracts with funding sources including: Orange County District Attorney's Office, NYS Office of Victims Services, NYS Department of Criminal Justice Services, Family Services/Sexual Violence Prevention Community Mobilization Regional Collaborative, Orange County Department of Mental Health, NYS Coalition Against Sexual Assault and NYS Department of Health.
- Serves as liaison with funders regarding reporting and compliance issues.
- Compiles and prepares monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required by MHA and funding sources.
- Develops and delivers educational workshops for schools, civic organizations, area professionals and the general community.
- Evaluates and revises the program's services on a continuing basis to meet the community's identified needs and agency goals.
- Writes grants for the programs and ensures new funding opportunities and continuation of funding takes place.
- Provide advocacy, support and educational services in a manner which brings a social justice analysis with particular focus on sexism and violence against women.
- Represent agency at local, regional and statewide meetings, coalitions and task forces.
Other Duties:
- Participate in MHA's committees as needed.

Requirements:Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in related field with 1 year of experience in human services
OR
- Bachelor's Degree in related field with 3 years of experience in human services
- Background in violence against women services preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years of supervisory experience required.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated public speaking skills.
- An understanding of and commitment to social justice.
- Must be organized, self-motivated and have the ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Ability to exercise sound judgment under crisis situations and to abide by regulations regarding confidentiality.
