Livestock Supervisor-Farmer

BEAUTIFUL, PRIVATE ESTATE SEEKING A LIVESTOCK SUPERVISOR-FARMER

If you love animals and animal care, have experience in farming and homesteading, we have an exciting opportunity on a beautiful Estate in Dover, MA. This Livestock Supervisor position will be responsible for the care of goats and additional livestock such as cattle, chickens, and other animals as the farm expands.
This year-round, full-time position is the perfect opportunity to join a dynamic team and participate in the creative development, planning and activities of this growing property all on a beautiful private estate

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Oversee the care, feeding, health checks and custody of livestock
• Regularly inspect livestock for signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior; coordinate with the Estate team and veterinarians as needed
• Goat Scaping: Recommend/Manage utilization of goats for areas of vegetation clearing
• Maintain accurate records of livestock inventory and their treatment
• Order necessary supplies such as feed and equipment to facilitate care
• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of indoor and outdoor structures, tools and equipment
• Recommend/maintain fencing options for goats and livestock (electric and others)
• Assist with groundskeeping duties and property maintenance when not tending to livestock

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Passion for animal care and farming - degree not required but experience in farming, animal/livestock care and management required.
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to operate farm equipment and tools safely and proficiently
• Must be able to lift and shift 70 lbs. and conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks.
• Experience with computer programs/MS Office a plus
• Must have current and valid drivers license and pass background screening.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without required sponsorship
