Job SummaryWe are looking for a dedicated and experienced Livestock Supervisor-Farmer to oversee the care and management of our livestock, including goats, cattle, chickens, and other animals. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the health and well-being of our animals, as well as maintaining accurate records and ordering necessary supplies.
Key Responsibilities- Animal Care and Management: Oversee the daily care and management of our livestock, including feeding, health checks, and custody.
- Inspections and Monitoring: Regularly inspect livestock for signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior, and coordinate with our team and veterinarians as needed.
- Goat Scaping: Recommend and manage the utilization of goats for areas of vegetation clearing.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of livestock inventory and their treatment.
- Supply Management: Order necessary supplies such as feed and equipment to facilitate care.
- Maintenance and Repair: Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of indoor and outdoor structures, tools, and equipment.
- Fencing and Groundskeeping: Recommend and maintain fencing options for goats and livestock, and assist with groundskeeping duties and property maintenance when not tending to livestock.
- Passion for Animal Care: A passion for animal care and farming, with experience in farming, animal/livestock care, and management.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with our team and external partners.
- Operational Skills: Ability to operate farm equipment and tools safely and proficiently.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and shift 70 lbs. and conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks.
- Technical Skills: Experience with computer programs and MS Office a plus.
- Background and Authorization: Must have a current and valid driver's license and pass a background screening. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without required sponsorship.
