Director of Culinary InnovationOur client is currently searching for a Director of Culinary Innovation, who will lead a team of chefs taking ideas and building them into exceptional eating experiences. With a thorough understanding of baking science, ingredient technology, commercial bakery process equipment, and the process of commercializing products, this individual will lead a team to create bench samples that delight our customer. We are looking for someone with a passion for creativity and development, balanced with a scientific and results-oriented mindset. If creating new innovative items and watching them be manufactured at scale excites you, please applyKey Responsibilities:Oversee innovation team working on strategic ideas for food service and retail customersDevelop and implement systems that ensure Culinary Chefs are forward-thinking, on-trend, and constantly innovativeLead the research, formulation, and development of new products within time, cost, and processing requirements including developing and managing SOPsOversee, design, and execute test and trial plans, taking into consideration the level of risk, operational constraints, and overall costManage ingredient functionality and recipe formulation within processing parametersPrepare and present samples and specifications for customer presentation and acceptanceImprove product quality through ongoing review of formulation and process parametersProvide technical support to ensure plant process produces optional production quality and efficient results, report on any technical issues which may impact the business, and provide technical support to external and internal customersCoach and mentor Culinary Chefs, Technologists, Food Scientists, and others in the Production Innovation & Development departmentTechnical Qualifications:Culinary Arts degree with a baking/pastry focus is requiredAt least 10 years of experience in a management role in a Culinary R&D function of a dessert manufacturing facilityStrong communication skills with internal teams and external foodservice and retail customersStrong bench skills and ability to create innovative desserts that can be scaled within the company s production capacityStrong project management skills, leadership skills, ability to multitask, and results-oriented focusExpert knowledge of food styles and trends, Canadian and U.S. food standards and regulations, and recipe formulation and raw materialsAbility to travel up to 30%**If you d like to hear more about this opportunity and others we are currently working on, please contact Jeff Fee at jfee cps4jobs.com.JO: 101.24JF#LI-JF1
