Overview: The Plant Engineer is responsible for the plant manufacturing engineering function and manages the maintenance and planning of facility assets to achieve high performance levels and ensure compliance. He/She directs those assigned or carrying out these functions to maximize operational time while reducing unscheduled downtime in support of the TPMM system. The Asset Care Manager is responsible for facility structure and support equipment and safety and environmental compliance at Federal, State and local level.  Responsibilities:  Key Job Accountabilities: Capital ManagementEnsures responsible capital management for equipment and facility.Equipment CareDevelops, evaluates, and improves equipment care methods and processes with a focus on maximizing Fabri-Kal equipment utilization and longevity with efficient use of resources.Equipment Design and Facilities, Support Equipment, and Grounds MaintenanceSuggests equipment design changes aimed to improve operational efficiency. Maintains the upkeep of plant facilities and grounds required to support continuing operations and growth and delivers consistent, reliable utilities to the manufacturing shop floor, to include water, electricity, compressed air, and air conditioning systems.Lean ManagementApplies lean manufacturing techniques to reduce consumption and waste and works with plant manufacturing value streams to coordinate activities and achieve asset utilization objectives.SchedulingWorks with other managers to ensure schedules are met, problems addressed, and improvements are implemented.Workforce UtilizationOptimizes workforce utilization of hourly employees through salary direct reports. Ensures the team has effective work strategy, detailed planning and 'down day' execution and effective skills development systems required to support the system.  Knowledge: Inventory Control Materials & GoodsOptimal inventory control of all raw materials, packaging and finished goods which includes requisitioning, receipt, storage, repack and handling of these goods.LeanDemonstrates understanding and utilization of lean manufacturing tools and strategiesMachine CareMachine care best practicesPreventative MaintenancePreventive maintenance (TPM) principles and systemsMaintenance KnowledgeReasonable knowledge in the basic maintenance skill sets, Electrical, Plumbing, Welding, Machine ShopMechanical ToolsAbility to use standard hand tools, measurement devices and test equipment and to understand and work effectively on equipment with complex mechanical, electrical and pneumatic features, PLC controls and first-hand troubleshooting and ownership.Work Order ManagementUnderstands open work orders, including how to review, analyze, prioritize and implement them within the related computer software.Reliable Equipment OperationReliable Equipment Operation: Master Process Mgmt. and TPM SystemsSAP / LINC'sWorking knowledge of the SAP and LINC's systems as they relate to production reporting and action trackingSafety EquipmentUse of safety equipment, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, PPE's and safety management best practices Skills & Abilities:Budget ManagementBudget tracking and planning skillsCommunicationEngage in written and oral communication that is clear, unambiguous, transparent, and consistent with the organizational vision, mission, and values.
