Job Description BAE Systems is looking for a Laboratory Technician III to join their fast-paced Lab Services team in Hudson, NH You will be supporting a wide variety of tasks in the day-to-day operation of engineering labs. This position will have you working directly with program(s) and lab users directed by the Site Lab Manager.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  1. Oversees engineering labs and the programs therein. Works directly with program personnel and lab users. Assists in maintaining schedules and milestones.
  2. Performs a multitude of audits/inspections for personnel and product safety, asset management, external and internal quality. Familiarize themselves with the current SH&E Manual and periodically review for updates.
  3. Obtain a Secret Security Clearance. Learn the differences between Unclassified and Classified areas.
  4. Perform various Metrology tasks including various databases to include calibration recall, scheduling, tracking, and record keeping.
  5. Manage chemical inventories. Order, inspect and disposition. Creation of new part numbers when necessary. Monitor Hazardous Material/Waste Disposition.
  6. Learn and remain current with BAE Systems official Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) procedure. Become proficient in procuring, installing and certifying ESD lab articles. Perform semi-annual verification.
  7. Learn and remain current with BAE Systems official Foreign Object Damage/Debris (FOD) procedure. Assist Sr. Lab Technicians in keeping labs to their assigned FOD level.
  8. Learn and utilize the RFID system. This requires tagging and loading equipment into the existing data base and learning how to track tagged equipment.
  9. Create work orders where the work includes facilitating Plant Engineering or custodial services.
  10. Using internal purchasing options acquire computer/network materials to satisfy the lab users IT requirements. In the event of a laptop/pc/workstation purchase ensure licensing software is also purchased (i.e. Linux OS)
  11. Deliver, stock, inventory and remove various materials and equipment within the lab following the appropriate BAE Systems guidelines.
  12. Post equipment PM (Periodic Maintenance) schedules and records. Coordinate appropriate personnel (i.e. Lab Services Staff, Lab User, etc.), Plant Engineering or Vendor that will perform PM.
  13. Through company, credit card and manual requisitions procure specified non-capital materials for labs and programs.
  14. Create shipping paperwork using the ISTAR system, while tracking the shipment until it reaches its destination. Initiate DD1149 (Government Shipper) as required. Perform initial inspection of incoming materials and verify the packing list. Repack materials for storage and deployment using approved containers.
  15. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

NOTE: This position can be filled at Laboratory Coordinator III or Laboratory Coordinator IV.Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • Requires a High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have demonstrated experience managing competing, complex tasks including but not limited to managing team tasks, cleaning work stations, managing loading and uploading, inventory orders, scheduling, monitoring lab supply levels, etc.

  • Must have experience managing reports and data from multiple groups

  • Must have MS Office Experience (Outlook, Teams, Excel (Standard/web), PPT)

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance



Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Requires a High School diploma or equivalent with 2+ years Engineering Expeditor or equivalent experience.
  • Familiar with AS9100 , IS17025 Safety Standards a plus
  • Experience leading without authority, interacting with Key Stakeholders, managing organizational change is a plus
  • Experience managing reporting/data
  • Familiar with FOD and ESD practices a plus
  • Preferred clearance level is Active Secret
  • Assembly/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronic bench experience a plus


Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $54560 - $87340

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
