With a goal of becoming the most trusted name in premium proteins, we create products for consumers and for retail and foodservice customers around the globe, while changing the way animals are raised for food.SummaryThe purpose of the Chick Processing Room Lead/Flock Coordinator is to oversee and coordinate all chick processing room activities, ensuring proper and continuous workflow, vaccination, and accounting of all flocks processed daily. Principal and Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesOversees preparation of chick processing room for daily processing; adjusts room temperature to ensure chick comfort, loads box de-stacker, distributes chick boxes and pads, pre-positions pallets and dolliesPerforms daily box count quality control checks, counting and recording a minimum of 5% of all flocks processed. Operates chick counter system, ensuring accurate breeder flock breaks, maintains precise flock counts. Distributes flocks according to delivery schedule and prepares flock assignment documentation. Prepares chick delivery tickets and pallet diagrams for delivery crew use.Prepares and dispenses vaccine according to approved vaccination programs. Conducts vaccine quality control checks ensuring accurate spray pattern and amount. Maintains vaccine inventory and tracks use recording lot numbers and expiration dates. Prepares, maintains, and sanitizes vaccine dispensing equipment. Conducts and records daily processing room bio-security checks. Prepares disinfecting footbaths for all processing area entrances. Oversees cleaning and disinfection of chick processing room. Prepares chemical solutions for cleaning and disinfection. Monitors supply levels of detergents and disinfectants and notifies management when to reorder.Minimum EducationHigh school or equivalentExperience RequirementsSome analytical math skills are required. Experience Preferred1 year experience in hatchery processing preferred.Environmental Factors and Physical RequirementsExposed to temperatures ranging from 60 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit and humidities up to 100%. Exposed to chemicals, drups and vaccines to be covered in MSDS training and hazardous communications. Use personal protective equipment as required. Ability to lift 4 lbs. to a height of 6 feet, to push 75 lbs. a distance of 75 feet and lift 20 - 25 lbs. to a height of 3 feet.
