With a goal of becoming the most trusted name in premium proteins, we create products for consumers and for retail and foodservice customers around the globe, while changing the way animals are raised for food.SummaryThe Company is seeking a deadline oriented, self-starter to work in maintaining and performing under general supervision duties and tasks incidental to poultry husbandry operations.Principal and Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPreparation and administration of water treatments.Monitors and maintains rodent bait stations weekly.Reports conditions to supervisor regularly.Operate power tools (heavy duty drill), weed-eaters and mowers.Repair/replace defective feed system parts (non-electrical). Check and maintain the following:Feed - completes and reports feed inventories 3 days per week. Check and assure constant availability to birds. Should be able to assemble and disassemble feed systems on each given ranch. Should maintain proper levels of feed in trays and system to ensure minimum waste and maximum bird performance.Water - assuring birds always have an ample supply. Will maintain and flush system when necessary. Periodic checks throughout the day are essential.Ventilation - check, maintain and or adjust ventilation equipment to ensure birds have proper air quality according to company guidelines. This includes adjustments to stoves, space heaters, fans, foggers, and curtains in order to maintain proper temperature for the age of the birds. Pre-placement ManagementCheck and inspect breaker panel to ensure equipment is functioning properly.Test run the following equipment to ensure working properly: Space heaters, Check stove functioning, Exhaust fans (placement and functioning), Fogger pump.Minimum EducationMust have a valid CA Driver's LicenseExperience RequirementsAbility to perform basic calculations in addition and subtraction.Ability to read and write (desirable but not required). Language Skills: Ability to understand, speak, and write fluent English. Spanish a plus but not required.Ability to carry out specific written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems and/or adjustments related to changing conditions. Ability to communicate effectively with peers and management.Experience PreferredEnvironmental Factors and Physical RequirementsBe able to climb a ladder up to 20 feet. Ability to carry out repetitive motions of the arms, wrists and hands. Ability to use hands, to feel objects, tools and controls.Work Environment: Regular exposure to moving equipment, vibration, dust, vapors, elevated noise levels, toxic and caustic chemicals, variety of odors, work from heights, and varying weather conditions.Compensation DataThis position has a target wage of $18.50 per hour and is eligible for comprehensive benefits.Perdue Farms, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
