You will identify ways to improve quality, yields, efficiency and the capability of existing processes, while also leading the scale up and implementation of developmental products/processes. You will be the factory liaison to Corporate R&D providing technical guidance to cross-functional operations teams working to ensure that processes meet stringent organoleptic release testing and operational requirements that are robust, efficient, and scalable.What You’ll Be Doing, Stop Scanning and Read This PartCreate and maintain Process Standards/ P&IDs for key manufacturing equipment including powder blenders, powder conveyance systems, pouch fillers and bottle fillers.Author documentation for qualification procedures (IQ, OQ, PQ), SOPs, test protocols, and technical reports.Develop standardized practices, protocols (SOPs) and processes for successful scale-up and manufacturing of products.Manage the commercialization of new products by working with internal and external business units both at the factory and at corporate HQ.Review order of operations, order of ingredient addition, processing times and make improvements as needed in order to insure batch uniformity and product quality.Draft, verify and implement blending and filling instructions for each new product introduction and optimize existing work instructions.Assist QA and Production teams by training others in the proper use of equipment and processes.Investigate and recommend solutions for manufacturing challenges related to processes, ingredients and formulas.Provide process engineering support for manufacturing operations.Represent corporate R&D at factory cross-functional teamsProvide regular status updates to management and project teams.Business Planning: Keeps self-informed of key business operations that impact the team and role; asks questions to ensure sufficient context and knowledge. Is open, curious, and willing to learn new skills. Effectively manages time and priorities.Results Orientation: Delivers on commitments with a dedication to quality and process. Supports team objectives outside the routine responsibilities.Problem Solving: Takes initiative to proactively identify problems; provides suggestions for improvements within the scope of the role.Other duties as assignedWhat You’ve Done and Who You AreB.Sc, in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Food Process Engineering, Food Science (or related degree) or relevant experience equivalent.Minimum 8 years' experienceRelevant experience with powder blending equipment, RTM powder formulas, sensory science, powder blending equipment, pouch and bottle filling, powder handling and analysis, DOE, SPC, Kaizen concepts and Lean manufacturing. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to accurately document work performed.Highly proficient in statistical data collection and analysis, SPC, DOE and reporting results with actionable recommendations.Ability to manage multiple projects, direct reports, and indirect reports simultaneously in an efficient, timely and precise manner.Able to organize and prioritize tasks and projects, detail oriented and self-motivated.Be able to collaborate and build rapport at all levels within the organization from sr. leadership to front-line factory staff.Experience and desire to support a culture built on collaboration, sharing of ideas and celebration of successes as well as drive for positive outcomes with cross-functional teams.
