Job Description Process Engineer - Decatur, ILThis is an exempt level position.Job Summary:This position is responsible for providing engineering support for a production department, in all facets of operation through direct contributions of project development from conception though start-up. You will apply engineering principles to new and existing facilities with tasks ranging from process design to the evaluation and implementation of new technologies. The facility processes corn into value added products and includes approximately 650 ADM and contractor colleagues.Essential Job Functions:Oversight of specific processes that may include projects. Project management may require, purchasing of materials and supplies, equipment installation, budget tracking, employee training, and start- up of projectsAssist in day-to-day operations including shift coverage as neededLead plant operations to maintain personnel and process safetyRecommendations for improvements to company facilities, equipment, and safety programsInteracts directly with shift supervision to produce desired operational results and employee developmentProject design, development and management that are specific to the operations of the departmentProcess and cost trackingTraining and mentoring other colleaguesMinimum Job Requirements:Strong commitment to safetyConcern for qualityDemonstrated leadershipDemonstrated strong problem-solving skillsGood written and verbal commutation skillsAbility to manage personnel and work closely with corporate departmentsAbility to look beyond the task at hand, to anticipate challenges and develop options to overcome themKnowledge of a variety of process unit operations Education/Training:B.S. in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Ag Preferred)1 to 3 years of plant operations experienceA project management background is preferredEducation/Training:B.S. in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Ag Preferred)1 to 3 years of plant operations experienceA project management background is preferredExcited about this role but don't meet every requirement listed?
