POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will be responsible for quotations and negotiations of project-based purchase orders, tracking responsible product, alerting fellow team members and management when project orders have been fulfilled as promised and if there are any purchased components that can adversely affect the project cost or schedule. Interfacing with Project Management, Master Scheduling and Sales to support the successful completion of projects.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Quotations: Provide timely and accurate quotations as needed to support the applications team on equipment and rebuild projects.
  • Tracking: Monitor and track all purchase orders to ensure that all deliveries satisfy assigned purchase orders; report any back-ordered or missing products; expediting procedures
  • Interface with Project Management and Master Scheduling to ensure on time delivery of product to maintain project schedules
  • Customer Service: Work closely with all shareholders to ensure all needs are met. Communicates issues timely and effectively; resolve issues with a sense of urgency. Ability to locate, evaluate, and secure new suppliers while maintaining expected pricing levels.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Ability to learn and adopt current cultural development initiatives and practice consistently

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in business or related field or 7 years relevant purchasing experience
  • Minimum 7 years experience in project management, purchasing/supply chain management, Experience specifically within the heavy fabrication, foundry, or machining industry.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Competencies & Certification

  • Professional certifications in purchasing or supply chain management are a plus. CSCP and/or CMP certification, or other related. Project Management certifications.
  • Experience in the Manufacturing Industry and a strong understanding of Supply Chain Management concepts are a must. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional negotiation skills, strong analytical abilities, and a deep understanding of the supplier landscape within the heavy fabrication sector.
  • Ability to balance multiple assignments while meeting deadlines to support the business.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • Outstanding communication (internal and external), organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer Proficiency: All Office 365 elements, ERP

Physical Requirements and Working Environment

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or stand for prolonged periods of time in an office or field setting.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Ability to effectively work prioritizing in a high demanding environment.
  • May work in environments with moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, extreme cold and heat, and wet and/or humid conditions. The employee may occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock; explosives and vibration.
  • May need to attend meetings or perform duties outside normal office hours (8-5).
  • Travel up to 20% and may be required to travel on short notice
