The ideal candidate will have past experience building successful data platforms that enable mission outcomes for customers. You will enjoy keeping your existing technical skills honed and developing new ones, so you can make strong contributions to deep architecture discussions. You will regularly lead deep-dive education and design exercises to create truly innovative solutions built on AWS.Our team works with customers in a variety of locations across the US. As such, team members must have the ability to travel to client locations to sell and deliver professional services as needed.It is expected to work from one of the above locations (or customer sites) at least 1+ days in a week. This is not a remote position. You are expected to be in the office or with customers as needed.This position requires that the candidate selected must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.Key job responsibilitiesResponsibilities include:Enable - AWS Professional Services has a primary mission to enable our customers and partner be successful on their journey to use AWS. We work with them to build well-architected solutions that are solving meaningful problems that help accelerate their business without worrying about managing the infrastructure to support it.Innovate - Each customer and partner comes with a unique challenge and you will be innovating on behalf of them to build a customized solution that is based on our prior work. You will also be making these solutions such that they benefit other customers and serve as building blocks for future work.Solution Design - We work with the customer stakeholders including their engineering teams to design a solution that follows AWS best practices. We work to understand customer requirements and render those as architectural models that will operate at large scale and high performance, and advise customers on how to run these architectural models on AWS.Collaborate - Work with AWS Engineering, Support and Business Development teams to build optimal solutions for customers and also influence the AWS services roadmap based on customer need. We also support presales activities through guidance and validation, scoping, and being key technical leaders in customer conversations.Build - You will be building highly technical solutions for engagements with partners and customers. This includes understanding customer requirements and applying your expertise to build solutions on top of AWS services that solve difficult data problems for our customers and partners. You will also work with our partners and provide advisory services to our customers on the implementation of robust data solutions on AWS. Deliver - Engagements include combination of on-site and off-site work to build solutions as appropriate. We work with our customers and partners and help them deploy solutions in their own environment. We use Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to the extent possible to leverage full benefit of AWS and ensure that the customers are self-sufficient once the engagement is complete.Mentor - Provide leadership and mentorship on data architecture best practices, fostering innovation and excellence. SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kinesis) experience- 3+ years of cloud based solution (AWS or equivalent), system, network and operating system experience- Bachelor's degree, or 7+ years of professional or military experience- 7+ years of external or internal customer facing, complex and large scale project management experience- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or abovePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and performance optimization of robust data architectures on AWS, including data lakes, lakehouse architectures, data warehouses- 7+ years of experience architecting and optimizing SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as developing and maintaining ETL processes using relevant tools- 4+ years of experience implementing distributed compute data technologies (e.g. Spark, Hive, Redshift) for scalable and secure data solutions, and utilizing query engines for efficient querying across large datasets- 3+ years of experience designing data architectures supporting machine learning and analytics platforms- 3+ years of experience developing and integrating APIs for seamless data access and integration across systems with multiple methods of query and processing, ensuring data accessibility, security, and optimization- 3+ years of experience leveraging the modern data stack, including workflow orchestration tools like Airflow, data management solutions, and open-source technologies for querying and managing open table formats (e.g. Iceberg, Hudi)- 3+ years of experience implementing and managing data governance solutions for comprehensive metadata management, discoverability, lineage, data quality, and access controlAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace.
