This role is responsible for performing various tasks, including generator bearing exchange, up tower gearbox repairs, pitch ram exchange, yaw drive exchange, troubleshooting, training, and safety exercises. This job also maintains accountability and readiness of tools, equipment, and vehicles, provides technical guidance to the O&M team, maintains records of service activities, and helps maintain the work ethic and culture of the organization. Responsibilities:Assure that all activities are performed safely consistent with policies and procedures established for the wind farm site. This includes wearing essential safety equipment, including a personal fall arrest system, as well as identifying potential hazards on the jobPass physical fitness tests required to maintain Global Wind Organization CertificationClimb wind towers daily and access wind turbines to perform maintenance tasksLift, carry, and transport essential equipment, tools, and materials to the job siteMonitor the activities of maintenance contractors and ensure corrective actions when appropriateLead and/or conduct acceptance and performance tests on systems and equipment following planned maintenance or outagesTrain and guide less experienced operations and maintenance personnelPerform safety and other wind farm-related tasks when assigned and fill in as backup to personnel at other RWE sites when necessaryPerform turbine maintenance, including services, major components, generator bearing, pitch ram, gearbox HSS/IMS, and shaft bearing exchange work. Additionally, perform software updates and troubleshooting as requiredTravel to other Sites as requiredOther duties as assigned Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate degree in Wind School and/or Mechanical degree preferredGlobal Wind Organization Certificate preferredA minimum of 4 years of experience in Wind, Solar, and BESSA degree from an accredited institution (excluding correspondence or online programs) can substitute for 2 years of experience if it meets the following criteria: 2-year or 4-year degree, a field of study in technical sciences, such as Engineering, Physics, Power Systems, or closely related disciplinesThe following credentials can substitute for 1 year of experience: Current Journeyman License, Current Master Electrician License, Wind Technician CertificationA valid unrestricted driver's license in good standing is requiredWilling to relocate to within 1 hour drive of the site is requiredAbility to push/pull/lift tools and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.Ability to work safely in extreme environments (hot sun, cold, etc.)Ability to walk, climb, and stand extensively during the workdayKnowledge of and experience with the use of hand and power toolsKnowledge of environmental and safety policies and proceduresAbility to work within tight deadlinesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility and willingness to travel to and from job sites as assigned Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage customer relationshipsDemonstrated desire to learn about the Company and the renewables spaceExcellent proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and TeamsStrong leadership and communication and ability to meet deadlinesStrong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverablesAbility to multi-task while working independently and as part of a teamMotivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilitiesProven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgroundsResponds well to direction, is easy to challenge and develop, and is coachableIs detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business conceptsThis position is a field-based role that requires some travel and visits to other RWECE offices and field locationsMust be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
