Our client, a top food manufacturer with a leading and continuously growing portfolio and team/revenue is currently seeking a Purchasing Analyst.
Postion based onsite in Northern VA so must live near there or be open to relocation.

Generous bonus opportunity and excellent benefits which start day onePURPOSE - •\tPlan, coordinate and measure the purchase of packaging and ingredients to support planned production for forecasted requirements. •\tCoordinate purchases supporting factory production that meet financial and inventory targets according to operating plans.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES -•\tCoordinate the execution of purchase orders and releases to support plant demands.•\tRecommend changes to revise and implement corporate purchasing processes and projects to increase company efficiency.•\tCoordinate delivery schedules with Plants and Co-pack facilities and troubleshoot problems through implementation of appropriate corrective actions, as necessary.•\tAnalyze market dynamics and assist in developing strategies to meet the company objectives by understanding industry trends, reviewing market prices, and recommending cost strategies for implementation.•\tDevelop and maintain strong business relationships with suppliers.•\tMinimize costs by actively challenging vendor pricing, initiating cost savings projects, assessing vendor capabilities, and developing alternate sources using cross functional resources. •\tNegotiate purchase contracts as necessary to ensure continuity of supply at the most competitive prices within the operating budgeted criteria.•\tEvaluate supplier performance on an ongoing basis implementing corrective actions as necessary to ensure quality/cost/delivery objectives are achieved. •\tWork with vendor base to understand future market trends so that annual standard costs for packaging and ingredients can be determined for the annual operating plan (AOP). •\tParticipate in cross functional projects by representing purchasing for new and current items and communicate key risks and opportunities. •\tFacilitate graphic changes and communication between Graphics Department, Packaging R&D, Plants and Co-pack facilities, and various packaging printers.•\tMaintain the highest ethical standards and assure the fair and equitable treatment of all suppliers to support the company's Values & Vision and provide the foundation for competitive advantage.KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES-•\tMust possess excellent organization skills and project management skills•\tStrong SAP Background and experience•\tExperience in sourcing of packaging components such as labels, flexible packaging, corrugate•\tCapable of managing multiple priorities and projects at the same time•\tAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible/adaptable •\tEffective communication and negotiation skills•\tGood analytical skills for price evaluations, spend analysis, and inventory management•\tPossess sound business judgment with practical approach to problem solving•\tAbility to interact effectively with all levels within the organization•\tBS/BA degree required•\t3-5 years of Supply Chain experience preferred•\tAbility to travel on a limited basis;
