Join our growing Distribution team todayPURPOSE:Responsible for the prompt repair and ongoing maintenance of more complex material handling equipment issues.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Job Responsibilities PercentageProvide recommendation to repair or replace poorly functioning equipment. 10%Efficiently prioritizes repair schedule to ensure an uninterrupted production schedule 10%Ensure an adequate inventory of necessary spare parts and materials is maintained. 10%Keep management informed of areas activities and of significant concerns. Report major concerns or significant problems. 10%Provides quality oversight to lesser experienced Technicians 10%Manages installation of RF unit and scan guns 10%Battery Changer Repair 5%Assist in developing a preventive maintenance schedule 10%Handles more complex diagnostics and repairs including but not limited to the following: electrical systems, hydraulic and brake systems. 15%Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location 10%Performs other relevant job duties as required.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience:High School Diploma/GED and/or equivalent related experience2-3 years of technical maintenance or related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education, experience and trainingCertified Material Handling Engineer Mechanic helpfulExperience:2-4 years of on-the-job experience with electronics and mechanical equipmentMachining and fabrication experienceExperience troubleshooting complex equipment.JOB REQUIREMENTS:Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience:2-3 years of technical maintenance or related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education, experience and trainingCertified Material Handling Engineer Mechanic helpfulExperience:2-4 years of on-the-job experience with electronics and mechanical equipmentMachining and fabrication experienceExperience troubleshooting complex equipment.Solid understanding of material handling equipment.Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:Oral and written communication skills to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. It is also required for writing routine reports and correspondenceAbility to solve practical problems and handle a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsClearly communicate with other employees and build relationships with employees, supervisors/managers, customers, as well as outside contractorsExcellent mechanical aptitudeAbility to work well independentlyGood judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/ DEMANDS:Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery OperationAbility to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures.Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.
