IHSC is committed to ensuring a system of care that is ethical, responsible, and accountable through rigorous surveillance and monitoring activities.
We provide detention health care services including medical, dental, and behavioral health to individuals in custody within ICE detention facilities. We are seeking Psychiatric RN candidates for full-time healthcare positions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Degree issuing institution and or program must be accredited by an entity recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Have practiced the equivalent of two years full-time as a registered nurse.
- Minimum 2,000 hours (equivalent to 1 year of full-time) work experience in psychiatric-mental health nursing as a licensed registered nurse, in a hospital, medical office or residential setting within the last 3 years.
- Board Certification in Psychiatric-Mental Halth Nursing by the American Nurses Credentiaing Center or eligible and must obtain within one year of start date.
- Must have the ability to work the required schedule: 2 dedicated night shifts and then rotating days.
- Associate's or baccalaureate Registered Nurse degree from a program accredited by The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- Current, full and unrestricted licensed as Registered Nurse in the state of Florida.
- One year of professional experience as a licensed registered nurse.
- Completed 30 hours of continuing education in psychiatric-mental health nursing within the last three years.
- Experience in a detention/correctional healthcare setting (preferred, not required).
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification through the American Heart Association.
- Must be able to pass a federal government security background check.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides direct care to patients within discipline Scope of Practice and performs functions in accordance with current accepted practice, licensure, certification, credentialing and or granted privileges.
- Provides treatment of persons throughout the life span as appropriate to discipline and facility setting.
- May be expected to respond to and or coordinate response to medical emergencies.
- Must appropriately document patient/resident encounters electronically according to current standards of care using electronic health records.
