This job will have the following responsibilities:
Formulate AAFCO/States compliant high quality, nutritious recipes. Ensure company standards and product requirements are met in each of our recipes. Maintain company knowledge of technical and scientific developments. Ensure required documentation and records are maintained to substantiate product label compliance standards, feeding guidelines, statements of nutritional adequacy, and advertising and promotional claims. Coordinate with Purchasing and Quality Assurance Teams to ensure ingredients meet the necessary nutritional requirements. Assist Consumer Service Team in providing qualified, professional responses to consumer feedback. Collaborate with marketing and sales to provide nutritional knowledge to increase sales.
Qualifications & Requirements:
PhD in Animal Nutrition (Companion Animal Nutrition preferred). Extensive knowledge of dog and cat nutrition and related sciences. Experience in pet food recipe creation (dry, wet, treats and canned). Working knowledge of dry food manufacturing processes and operations. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands.
