Safety Specialist

BAE Systems is seeking a senior level Safety Specialist to support at its site in Radford, Virginia. In this role as a Safety Specialist, you will be instrumental in supporting the site Safety programs.
Included responsibilities:
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Work hand-in-hand with the operating units and maintenance to achieve 100% compliance.
- Pro-actively identify safety issues.
- Strive to minimize recordable injury rates by working collaboratively and closely with the SHE department and the entire Radford site.
- Work with a variety of safety related programs (LO/TO, Confined Space, hotwork, electrical, guarding, walking surfaces, risk assessment, DoD Regs for ARMY Contractors, etc.).
- Help disseminate the knowledge to the Radford team.
Note: This position supports 100% on site.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in a Safety related discipline with four (4) years of related experience, or the overall equivalent experience.
- Well versed in safety regulations, particularly OSHA.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to effectively disseminate information to a diverse population of employees.
- Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite and industry-related software applications.
- Able to support on-site, "boots on the ground."
- Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment a plus
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $71600 - $121700
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
