RD Packaging EngineerWe are seeking a highly motivated and skilled R&D Packaging Engineer to join our team in Denver, CO. As a Packaging Engineer here, you will play a vital role in the development, optimization, and maintenance of packaging solutions for our diverse range of branded Mexican food products. Working closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, production, procurement, and quality assurance, you will ensure that our packaging meets the highest standards of functionality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Packaging and about 2 years of relevant experience in the food industry.Essential Job Functions:Packaging Design and DevelopmentLead the design and development of packaging solutions tailored to specific product requirements, ensuring compatibility with our manufacturing processes and supply chainConduct feasibility studies, material selection, and testing to assess the performance and suitability of packaging material such as plastics, glass, metals, and corrugate materialsCollaborate with R&D to innovate new packaging designs and technologies that enhance product freshness, shelf life, and consumer conveniencePackaging Optimization:Identify opportunities for packaging optimization to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize environmental impactConduct packaging line trials and performance evaluations to optimize packaging processes and minimize waste generationImplement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance packaging performance and address any issues related to product integrity or customer satisfactionEnsure compliance with regulatory standards and certificationsRegulatory Compliance and Quality Assurance:Ensure compliance with relevant food safety regulations and industry standards in all aspects of packaging design, labeling, and documentationWork closely with quality assurance teams to conduct risk assessments, address packaging-related quality issues, and implement corrective actions as necessaryStay informed about emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in food packaging technology, and proactively apply this knowledge to maintain our competitive edgeDevelop and implement packaging specs to ensure product consistency and adherence to company standardsCollaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address any issues related to packaging quality or safetyTechnical Qualifications:Bachelor s degree in Packaging engineering / Chemical engineering with 2+ years of food packaging development, preferably in food or pharmaceutical industryStrong understanding of packaging materials, technologies, and processes, with experience in PET and PP tubs, glass jars, metal lids, corrugated and barrier filmsUp to 25% travel, sometime independently**If you d like to hear more about this opportunity and others we are currently working on, please contact Sam Kovacevic at skova cps4jobs.com.JO: 220.24KK#LI-SK3
