Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a cost estimator for the Engineering, Professional, and Administrative Support Services contract, supporting the US Air Force Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division.

LOCATION: San Antonio, TX

JOB STATUS: FT

TRAVEL: X%

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • BA/BS, 4 years of relevant experience, or 8 years of directly related experience
  • Current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret clearance


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

  • Ability to apply routine cost estimating methods such as analogy, engineering or scientific methodology, and extrapolation
  • Experience using the Automated Cost Estimating Integrated Tools (ACEIT) Tool Suite to perform government program office estimates and analyses


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • design, develop, and adapt mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other scientific methods and techniques.


  • Use routine cost estimating methods such as analogy, engineering or scientific methodology, and extrapolation
  • Use cost estimating outputs to assess the impact various factors have on the costs to design, research, develop, operate, maintain, and dispose of a particular weapon system
  • Analyze all elements affecting costs for a project of limited scope
  • Analyze Contractor financial data using EVM measures of merit to determine program viability with respect to cost, schedule, and performance
  • Apply analytical processes, such as setting up the problem, conducting background research, collecting, and reducing data, displaying data for analysis, formulating mathematical expressions, and drawing conclusions
  • Comply with all cost estimating guidance including the appropriate DoD, Air Force, AFMC, or lower-level policy, publications, supplements, manuals, etc., as well as applicable documents and regulations, systems, processes, and guides
