Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve data.
  • Define database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations.
  • Design solutions that cater to the end-to-end life cycle of the information being managed.
  • Hands-on experience in performance-tuning techniques.
  • Define security and backup procedures based on the criticality of the data element.
  • Lead the design and prototyping; guide developers in solving complex technical problems.
  • Translate complex business processes and concepts into simple technology frameworks for developers to realize it.
  • Align the solution to the enterprise standards and guidelines.
Must-haves:
  • 15+ years of technology delivery experience with at least 10 years of focus in database system architecture and design.
  • Experience producing high-quality Solution architecture and design documents.
  • Hands-on experience in working with popular database products like MS SQL server, and Oracle and good working knowledge of SQL.
  • Ability to socialize and communicate the technical architecture and design to businesses and developers.
  • Experience in cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS) and familiarity with at least one prominent Cloud vendor (AWS preferable).
  • Experience in security aspects of data storage and retrieval.
  • Good understanding of DevOps and/or continuous deployment and/or integration processes and tools like Jenkins.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Participate in OrangePeople monthly team meetings, and participate in team-building efforts.
  • Contribute to OrangePeople technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
  • Contribute content and collaborate via the OP-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
  • Provide status reports to OP Account Management as requested.
