Thermal System Architect

Our Thermal Engineering team delivers innovative and compliant thermal design solutions, as well as cross-functional interfaces for desktop, portable and mobile computer systems and peripherals. Our team conducts the feasibility studies and testing of commercial PC thermal products, instruments, subassemblies and performance optimization for new and existing products - and then oversees the introduction of design changes to the manufacturing organizations.

Join us to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact as a Thermal System Architect on our Client Portfolio Architecture team in Austin, Texas.

What you'll achieve

As a Thermal System Architect, you will be responsible for defining the product's thermal requirements, engineering the product to meet those standards, and validating that the product complies with them. This involves working with internal development teams, external suppliers and development partners to develop innovative solutions for PCs using leading-edge engineering software, tools and processes.

And you'll be responsible for leading and defining the product designs across a large breath of skillsets, including structural, thermal, manufacturing, serviceability and reliability. And you'll have the opportunity to use your multi-discipline strengths within mechanical engineering to direct designs, drive system level conclusions and represent the team at the cross-functional reviews.

You will:
  • Possess the acumen to handle both complex and ambiguous situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously - mixing long term projects with the urgency of immediate demands
  • Have a high level of creativity, drive, leadership and design skills as you'll create exciting designs, share knowledge across the technology community and be proud of your industry leading products
  • Be self-motivated, be a strong collaborator, be able to think creatively and to work with others to find solutions, drive execution and focus on results
