Job Description:
Apex Systems is seeking a Radio Frequency Engineer to join our client in support of a DoD program at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station in MD.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced RF Engineer to lead and contribute to the design, development, and optimization of complex radio frequency systems, particularly for DoD communications and public safety radio systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in RF systems engineering and a strong understanding of electrical and electronic theory, with a focus on meshed radio networks and associated equipment. This position requires an expert capable of providing hands-on technical support, as well as strategic guidance on system operations and policy development.

Compensation: $40+/hr & ~$90k salary conversion
Clearance Required: Active Top Secret, SCI eligible
Key Responsibilities:
Apply advanced electrical and electronic engineering principles to design, repair, modify, and optimize RF components, circuitry, controls, and associated machinery.
Lead the application of engineering techniques to test, evaluate, and enhance electrical and data processing systems, primarily for DoD communication platforms.
Utilize expertise in radio frequency systems to support public safety radio operations, meshed networks, and related equipment.
Review, draft, and implement technical policies and procedures related to RF and electrical engineering.
Plan, execute, and oversee the testing and validation of system equipment, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis for system improvements.
Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing DoD and public safety communication systems.
Required Qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years of experience in RF engineering, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in DoD or public safety communications systems.
TS/SCI eligibility is required for this role.
Active and current Crestron Certified Technician certification.
